About

Hi, I’m Harumi Hironaka. As a teenager, I wanted to become a manga artist, and everything I create now is my way of giving that kid the warm hug she needed.
Growing up between countries, I often felt out of place, constantly searching for a sense of identity and belonging. I was a quiet and introspective child, unable to express myself fully or pay attention to the world around me, so I turned to drawing.
That need to communicate led me to study languages, translation and interpreting. I became obsessed by how meaning shifts through words and how something is always lost in translation.
While freelancing, I started painting and I discovered a new language that required no explanation, a space where I could lose myself for a while and where I felt most at home.
When I started a family, I had to pause to take care of them and daily life. But painting always finds its way back to me. It’s how I reconnect with myself, with the world, and with you.
If you’ve made it this far and are here in my shop, thank you. I’m still terrified, still excited, and deeply grateful.
